These algorithms can not only interpret multiple indices simultaneously, but also predict treatment response and disease progression. This allows for the optimization of treatment strategies, particularly by anticipating side effects such as cardiotoxicity from radiation therapy.

Towards a Deeper Understanding of Tumors

AI is not limited to analyzing anatomical images. It also helps in understanding the molecular characteristics of tumors. Researchers aim to use these tools to identify tumor phenotypes from 3D images, providing insights into better understanding resistance to treatments, particularly immunotherapy.
